Agriturismo Verdita is not only about the blissful Italian life, la dolce vita, but Verdita also has 20 hectares of land, of which 2.5 hectares are lavender fields. These fields have to be maintained, of course. Ah yes, because in the summer lavender parties are held there. Pruning, weeding and winterizing are also part of the activities of an agriturismo. We love the fact that we can work outside in the fields in deafening silence and a setting that looks just like a fairy tale. In the evening, after a whole day’s work on the fields, a wild boar stew and a glass of Barbera taste delicious in front of the crackling woodstove.
In the meantime, the weather is also changing here. One moment it seems like late summer, the next fifteen minutes the fog (nebbia – nebbiolo) sets in and we are right in the middle of winter. In any case, we like it here very much. And meanwhile, the first bookings for the summer are coming in. We can’t wait to welcome guests on our beautiful hill. In the morning I often say to Luk: “Se mi alzo e vedo questa natura, che fortuna di poter vivere qui.”
