As I have an overactive dog and boyfriend we do a lot of walking in our hills. Over the years we discovered several paths starting from our house, some we have put in the Wikiloc-app (www.wikiloc.com – look for routes starting from Merana in Piemonte) and in some occasions I ended up on hands and knees because I followed the path of wild animals, like deer and boar, and didn’t want to turn around.
A few times we took guests with us, they called it “adventure walks” as the paths are steeper than they are used to in the Netherlands and Belgium, where it is mostly flat … and flat is the one thing you will not find here.
